Tlacotalpan is a small town in the south of Veracruz on the Papaloapan river, in Mexico. Its name means "parted land". It is famous for its traditional fishing business, and for the two annual music festivals, with a specil link with Andalucía, Africa, and the native cultures of Mesoamerica.

Tlacotalpan is also a UNESCO Cultural landmark.
